Plot: Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning superstar in this music-fueled story of the ground-breaking, all woman, younger rock-band of the 1970s: The Runaways. The film follows two friends, Joan Jett and Cherie Curie, as they improve from edgy South east California kids to stone superstars of the now popular team that presented the way for decades to come of woman categories. Joan and Cherie fall under the Svengali-like effect of stone impresario Kim Fowley, conducted by Eileen Shannon, who changes the team into an incredible success and a number of misfits. With its tough-chick image and raw abilities, the team quickly produces a name for itself - and so do its two leads: Joan is the band' s authentic rock' n' shift middle, while Cherie, with her Bowie-Bardot looks, is the sex cat. Released and directed by Floria Sigismondi, the film experiences Joan and Cherie's tumultuous relationship on and off stage, as the team starts to break out.
